Welcome to The Frank Jensen About Page

Frank Jensen is a Salt Lake City based professional photographer whose career in photography spans more than four decades. A graduate of the University of Utah, he worked as bureau manager, reporter, and photographer at the Salt Lake Tribune's Cedar City Bureau from 1955 to 1962. It was a beat that covered all of Southern Utah as well as parts of Nevada and Arizona. Among his credits: a member of a team whose coverage of the 1956 mid-air collision of two airliners over the Grand Canyon won the paper a Pulitzer. Read the Salt Lake Tribune Article

As a free-lancer he's worked as a photographer, with an impressive library of images covering the Four Corners area (Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico). Frank's images are some of the finest photographic art available. At 76 Frank still hikes to remote locations throughout these areas, capturing one of a kind rarely viewed location shots.

Writer and documentary film producer in television news in Salt Lake City during the 60's and early 70's, three of his films won awards. Among them, "The Two Worlds of the Navajo," cited by the Utah Broadcasters Association as the best Utah documentary produced in 1963.

Over the years he has contributed to Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, Sunset Magazine, National Geographic Publications, Trailer Life, Better Homes and Gardens, American Heritage books, as well as numerous books and lesser publications. He is currently a regular contributor to the Utah Travel Council publications.
